Welcome to the Self-Assessment Website for General Physical Science (PHS 100) at Anne Arundel Community College. We created this site to help you figure out your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to Physical Science and to provide help as needed.
This page is designed to be a self-paced resource that you can refer to whenever you choose. There is no one right way of using this site, it will be up to you to use as you see fit. However, like everything in life, you will get out of this site, what you put into it. Just reading the questions and answers is unlikely to help your performance in this course.
Site Organization
At AACC, each course has a list of core skills that you will learn. These core skills are called competencies. Each competency is broken down into multiple learning objectives. Once you enter the site, you will see a list of the 11 competencies for this course. Each competency is broken down into several learning objectives. There will be one or more questions (with answers) for each learning objective. In addition, each competency will have a link to additional resources available for help.

While this site can be useful in helping you to discover those areas in which you need more work, it has its limitations. Each instructor has his/her own style and format(s) for asking quiz and exam questions. Although every effort was made to include questions in a number of different formats, they may not fully prepare you for the questions you will receive from your instructor. Additionally, the competencies and learning objectives listed on this site are for the core material that makes up this course. General Physical Science is a very broad field. Instructors may hold you responsible for material beyond that listed in the competencies and learning objectives.
