SUGGESTIONS FOR PREPARING FOR FINAL EXAM

1.       Prepare your authorized formula sheet.  Only handwritten information is authorized.
For on-campus courses, you may use both sides of the card that is provided you.
For on-line courses, you may use both sides of an 8.5" by 11"
  sheet of paper.

2.       Rewrite solutions to all five hour quizzes.   The most prevalent type problems on the exam have already been asked on the hour quizzes.  We suggest that you rewrite the solutions because of the heightened concentration and kinesthetic connection that writing enhances.

3.       Review the solutions to the five problem sets.  Since the hour quizzes do not cover all of the topics for which you were responsible, the problem sets are your second best preparation.  Time permitting; rewriting is still superior to merely rereading.

4.       Be sure to get some sleep the night before the exam.  Be sure to eat before taking the exam.  Rested bodies and brains, as well as adequate blood sugar, will improve your ability to solve problems.

5.       In the hour prior to taking the exam, study only what you already know so that all you know is freshly revisited.

OBTAINING COURSE GRADE

6.       To allow all exams to arrive back from testing centers, we usually grade them and determine the grades for the course on the last day of exam week.  Grades for the course are normally available the next day on myaacc.

7.       We do not return final exams or final exam solutions.  To find your grade for the course, sign onto myaacc, click Self Services tab, click Students (on right side), click Grades.
