As you are aware administrative law comes from an enabling statute from a legislative body that allows the administrative body to adopt regulations based on that statute. In order for a regulation to become administrative law it must be publicized and made available for comment in a book called a register (Chapter 14 Legal Research.) The Maryland Register serves as the vehicle for our state and the federal Register for the United States. The final regulations are then placed in books called Codes. In Maryland it is Code of Maryland Regulation and on the Federal level the Code of Federal Regulation. Remember all regulation must have some statutory authority. In the following assignments you will see how regulation stems from statutory authority. |
