Before you begin searching for the information located under the various sources of Maryland law please take a minute to look at the overview of Maryland Government.  Take a moment to click on the organizational chart for the entire system.  You may want to print  the chart for future reference.
Scroll down the page and look at the branches of government.  Each branch has an organizational chart.  You may want to print them for future reference.  Once you get to the chart scroll down there is a link for a printable PDF version of the chart.

Maryland Constitution

Read the Maryland Constitution and answer the following questions.

In order to be eligible to be the Governor how old must you be?

In order to be a Maryland Senator how old must you be?

In order to be a member of the Maryland House of Delegates how old must you be?

Does the Maryland Constitutions discuss off-street parking?  If so, what does it say?

Write an Informative Letter.

Maryland Executive

The executive of a state (governor) creates a type of law called Executive Orders so click here to see what they are. Also, try the Secretary of State Website for more information.

What is an executive order?

Where does the governor get the power to get the power to create executive order?

Locate two Executive Orders and write a brief description of each.

Write a brief answer to the questions in an informal memorandum.  Make sure you do not plagiarize.  Quote where applicable.

The governor also has a number of  Executive Administrative Agencies that create regulations to carry out the mission of that agency.  When a Maryland Administrative Agency creates a regulation (and after is has been published for public comment in the Maryland Register) it is placed in a book called  COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations.)  COMAR can be accessed through the Maryland Law Library Website.  Unless you know the specific title you are looking for it may be difficult to find.  Certainly beyond your experience at this time.  However, I am hyper linking you to the first page of  COMAR .   After you reach this page click on COMAR ONLINE to access the data.
