Chapter 5 focuses on the definition of law, sources of American Law both Federal and State, Federal and State Constitutions, Federal and Statutory Law, Federal and State Case Law,  Federal and State Administrative Law and the law created by the Executive Branch of Federal and State governments.  You will learn this again in more detail in LGS/BPA253 Business Law I and LGS171 Civil Procedure.
However, there is one habit that you should begin early and that is learning how to properly cite law.  Here is a website that will aid you in that effort.  It is the Cornell Law Schools website. There you will find
Introduction to Basic Legal Citation
There are others mentioned later in your text but for now this should be adequate. I would suggest that you read the introductory material provided by the website above before beginning this chapter.

I. Introduction to Basic Citation

As you are reading information in the chapter pay close attention to the cites in your  textbook.  From now on you will be expected to cite legal work using the proper format.
