This exercise is designed to help you evaluate information sources retrieved from the World Wide Web.  After you have completed the exercise, you should be able to select and evaluate other materials for a research paper or a class project in a more discerning manner.

1. Read through all the directions before beginning the tutorial.

2. Look at two or more of the Web sites in the table below, then choose one for this exercise.  When you click on a Web site link below, a new browser session will open.  When you have chosen a Web site, keep this browser open while you work .

3. Open the questionnaire by clicking HERE. This will open a third browser session that you should keep open as you answer the questions.

4. Answer each of the questions about your chosen Web site.  Answers must be complete -  mere 'yes' or 'no' responses are not sufficient.

5. Submit your answers to a librarian for verification by clicking the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the questionnaire.

6. Print a copy of your confirmation page - your instructor may require proof of completion.

Expect to spend about 30-45 minutes to complete the exercise.
