4 credit hours – Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly; one semester.

Introduction to plant diversity. including the Kingdom Monera, the photosynthetic members of the Kingdom Protista (the algae), the saprophytic/parasitic members of the Kingdom Protista (the flagellated fungi), the Kingdom Fungi and the Kingdom Plantae. Topics emphasized will be the nature of botanical science, critical scientific thinking, cell structure, cell organization, reproduction life cycles, classification and physiology. Lab fee $40.
