Which object has more electrical resistance- a piece of wood or a piece of gold (if both objects are the same size)?
The size, shape, and type of material are all important factors in the amount of resistance an object has to the flow of charge. In this case, both objects are the same size, so the material is the key element in determining which has the higher resistance. Gold, like all metals, is a good conductor. This means gold has a low electrical resistance. The electrical resistance for wood is much higher.
