Answer and Explanation
1) You should see the solid baking soda disappear (solid in the reactants but not in the products).
2) You should expect to see CO2 bubbles produced.
3) You could also observe changes in pH because this is an acid/base reaction. pH changes can be detected with an electronic meter, pH paper, or with indicator compounds such as phenolphthalein.
If you have never seen this reaction at home, try it! Pour some vinegar in a large glass and slowly add a little bit of baking soda.
