1. Selecting a card from a deck of cards.
2. Asking each of 400 registered voters if he or she voted in the last election.
3. Selecting (without replacement) 4 bulbs from a group of 12 bulbs which is known to have 3 defective bulbs.
4. A recent study indicates that one third of adult United States females under the age of 40 will develop heart disease at some point in their lives. In a sample of 12 U.S. females under the age of 40, find the probability that six of them will develop heart disease assuming no life style changes.
5. Assume that 45% of adults in the United States have heard of Product XY. In a sample of 24 adults, find
a.) the probability that 16 have heard of Product XY.
b.) the probability that fewer than 5 have heard of Product XY.
c.) the probability more than 6 but no more than 16 have heard of Product XY.
