Magazines and journals are another resource available in libraries. Libraries use the term "periodicals" to refer to magazines and journals (as well as newspapers and other items that arrive periodically). Truxal Library stores periodicals, in alphabetical order, in their own collection on the third floor. The newest issues are in the current periodicals area and older ones have been bound in hardback volumes and placed on shelves. Older selected magazines and journals may also be found in the microfilm collection on the second floor under the stairs. Periodicals do not circulate, meaning that they may only be used within the library. Truxal Library receives journals and magazines on a wide variety of topics relevant to your academic pursuits and personal interests - feel free to come in and read one between classes! In addition to the print version, you can also get full-text articles from thousands of magazines and journals on your computer via our electronic databases, which you will read about shortly. |
