The Main Stacks (or "the Stacks") are the general shelving areas where you will find books you may check out of the library.

For the most part, books in the main collection often provide more in-depth coverage and more extensive background information on a topic.

The main stacks might contain in-depth information about:

• the history of the Ford Motor Company
• how to write a research paper
