Work each with the Standard American Algorithm and with the German Algorithm.
Tuesday 3/17: We covered p.56/57 (part 2) and p. 55 in your green Explorations book. For p. 56/57 be able to work subtraction problems using these alternative methods. Also be proficient with the German Algorithm ("Algorithm used in many other countries") from p. 161 in the textbook. Learn how to subtract in bases other than 10.
Tuesday 3/29: We covered p.68 in your green Explorations book and learned two additional alternative multiplication algorithms.
Thursday 3/31: We covered p.73 in your green Explorations book as well as the worksheet below.

We worked the following on 4/19/2016:
1) With three different methods, find LCM and GCF of the pairs 14, 18; then 24, 30; lastly 150, 225.
2) With the formula, work out the LCM of the numbers 21 and 15, using the their GCF of 3.
We also reviewed important inclusions in explanations on student mistakes in division problems
and played out the Sieve of Eratosthenes to find prime numbers.
Reading is assinged through as much of chapter 5 as you can fit.
